Common Questions About Hardwood Flooring

How much does hardwood floor refinishing cost?

Every floor is different, so pricing depends on the size and condition of the floor, repairs needed, stain and finish selections, and other project details. We provide free on-site estimates so we can inspect the floor, discuss your goals, and give you an accurate price before work begins.

What happens during a free estimate?

We’ll meet with you at the property, take measurements, inspect the existing floors, and look for anything that may need special attention, such as damaged boards, squeaks, water damage, or repairs. We’ll also discuss the look you want and the best options for your project before providing an estimate.

How much experience does Royal Hardwood Flooring have?

Our owners bring more than 20 years of hands-on flooring experience to every project. That experience includes hardwood installation, sanding and refinishing, repairs and restoration, staircase remodeling, and custom handrails. We’ve worked on everything from century-old homes to the Hunt family’s personal suite at Arrowhead Stadium.

How long does hardwood floor refinishing take?

Most hardwood refinishing projects take several days, depending on the size of the area, the condition of the floors, repairs needed, stain selection, finish system, and drying time. We'll give you a realistic timeline for your specific project before work begins.

Can you repair damaged hardwood or replace individual boards?

Yes. We can repair or replace damaged, stained, squeaking, or missing boards and often blend the repairs into the surrounding hardwood. We'll inspect problem areas during your estimate and recommend the best approach for a lasting, natural-looking repair.

Can you match new hardwood to my existing floors?

In many cases, yes. We look at the existing wood species, board width, grade, color, and finish to determine the best way to blend new flooring with what's already there. Older floors can have unique characteristics, so an exact match isn't always possible, but we'll explain the options and help you get the most seamless result possible.
